Palermo, the bustling capital of Sicily is one of the busiest ports in Italy with ferry crossings available to the island of Ustica or to a host of ports on the Italian mainland and beyond. The port at Messina is in constant use ferrying passengers across the Strait into Calabria while Pozzallo to the south is used for crossings to Malta. |
Milazzo is the most popular port for crossings into the Aeolian Islands, Trapani serves the Aegadian Islands and Porto Empedocle is the main port for ferries to Lampedusa.
